Eyeglass-apalooza

Ira Glass and Stephen Colbert at the same table on my computer screen…That’s, like, one striped tie or pair of spectacles past hyperventilation.

Yes, yes, yes, we already have The Decemberists Guitarmageddon 2009 tonight on the Colbert Report on our calendar. I’m afraid we won’t be able to stay up to watch it live, but we’ll be taping it.

I liked the clip of Ira–seems like a nice guy and not lifeless at all.

    Woeful. Passé. Fringe.

I am lost in the labyrinth of your cultural complexities. It’s a good that the little sister can follow where you lead. Remember to score me points for allowing her to live…

Now wait a second, Mum, what did I do?? Or is this yet another reference to my super-witchy 8th grade year that you love to remind me of….

And also, what the heck is ViaLys supposed to be anyways? I’ve been wondering that for a while.

Hmm maybe I should actually include something about the actual post in my comment….like the fact that I haven’t seen The Daily Show or Colbert Report in quite awhile, and now this makes me want to, which means another thing to procrastinate with. Thanks sis!

  4. Okay, ladies. Em, allow me to try to interpret Mom. I *think* she’s referring to her own little sister, who would be our Aunt. Hilarious that you admitted to being a super-witchy eighth grader though!

As for her ViaLys handle, you figure it out, DeepLeap word scramble whiz!

    Pedestrian Saga, at your service.

  5. Emily says:

Well I know that its an anagram, but does it mean anything?? I don’t see the point to an anagram unless it means something. Via, okay got it, but via LYS? what’s that besides perhaps an abbreviation for the amino acid lysine….

  6. ViaLys says:

Oh, Lord, save us from science! Lys is French for the lily – think “Fleur de Lys” which is the symbol for the French monarchy? AND then there is the Lilly pun, given that much of my traveling has been “via” Lilly grants. And I was SO proud to create that from my name: By way of the lily (France) or Lilly. Works right along with pedestrian saga, I think.

Yes, MY little sister who so enthusiastically and knowledgeably responded to this incomprehensible post, making me feel so out of touch with coolness. At least the scientist is as baffled as I. Welcome to my un-cool corner, Miss Pickle.

  7. ViaLys says:

AND a big P.S. I can’t even play the video! Un-cool AND un-techie. Grandpa’s adobe flash player needs an update. Tried it. Won’t download without buying one. Sigh.
    Un-coolness R us.

Watching this really makes me miss cable tv! Oh, and I’m thinking of changing my career now. I’m going to become Ira Glass’s new stylist; he needs me. Thanks for some much needed laughs!
