Kindergarten flunkee
All I really want to know right now I wish I’d learned in kindergarten:
- foreign languages
- dog handling
- dancing
- networking; schmoozing
- public speaking
- critical thinking
- forgiveness
- patience

The language of a 5 year IS foreign.
You had Bonny trained to follow you into trouble in myriad ways.
You danced and balance beamed like a pro from age 1.
Schmoozing, are you kidding? By age 5 you were large in charge of Jim and Sarah both with their vast network of pals.
Public speaking. See above. You rapped your stick and told them how it was. They listened.
Critical thinking. Um, hello. You’ve always managed to be critical in a scathing manner, starting with yourself with me close behind. Thinking had to be part of that.
Forgiveness. You’re still speaking to me. ‘Nuff said.
Patience. OK, fine, but 7 out of 8 is just human and a pretty good batting average. (To wit, the letter K wadded up and a new name demanded, at age I don’t know, maybe 3?)

Aw, Ma, maybe. But I seem to have shed some competency and confidence along the way. It’s a daunting challenge to function in the adult world right now. Too hard! This particular rant-in-the-form-of-a-bulleted-list is not meant to criticize your child-rearing, by the way; I take responsibility for my own education and development, even if I whine about it like a lazy wimp.
