Yes, Dennis, you started this madness!

Mum, I ate a bit too much coconut milk ice cream tonight - blargh. Can't wait to share a pint with you someday! Made by some enterprising hippies in Eugene. And thank you for your detailed answers. (Heh-heh-heh, she said, "tant pis.")

L. Claude, it's been ANOTHER hot weekend, and I've got plenty more hot hugs for you. I've been thinking... I'd rather be at a certain Ladies Night in Fort Fun, Indiana.

It's possible you don't want to know this much about me, but tant pis...

Four jobs I have had in my life:
1. filing clerk/secretary for the US Army Financial Center, Fort Benjamin Harrison
2. French teacher to the Marion County basketball champion freshman team
3. college professor of composition to a blind man who designed Def Leppard's drum set
4. cafeteria lady in an IU dorm and morning cook at Pizza Hut

Four movies I like to watch:
1. The Saint
2. The Long Kiss Good-night
3. Pirates (of the Caribbean & that Gena Davis one...)
4. Fellowship of the Ring/Anne of Green Gables/Sarah, Plain and Tall - I know I'm cheating but I could watch movies every waking moment (unlike some people I know who can sleep through movies with predictable cherubic sweetness)

Four places I have lived:
1. Indiana, moving northward from Bloomington to Indy to Kendalltucky to LaStrange
2. Saint Brieuc, Bretagne (Bonne Fete! in honor of Bastille Day today)
3. New Zealand=paradise, ok I lived there on a visit (so add in Glastonbury, Dongduchong Korea, and Unna Germany as other happy places)
4. The Greenwood, called Mirkwood in less happy days, where I am queen

Four TV shows I love to watch:
1. Quantum Leap
2. Lois and Clark
3. JAG/MASH
4. West Wing

Four places I have been on vacation:
1. Corvallis, OR, Los Angeles, CA, Berkeley, CA
2. Wilmore, KY
3. France, Italy, England, Spain, Germany, Austria
4. Hong Kong, Mainland China, South Korea, New Zealand

Four of my favorite foods:
1. ice cream (can't eat it unless it is goat milk, rice milk, soy base -yuck)
2. raspberries, cherries, apples
3. tomatoes and assorted garden veggies like olives :-)
4. home made pizza with sheep based cheese

Four places that I would rather be right now:
1. Corvallis, OR, Angola IN, Wilmore KY, Indy
2. Bretagne
3. anywhere in the northern hemispher
4. in a happy home with a husband and grandchildren and puppies...(Now I have to go ralph...)

Four things I adore about Katie:
1. Her beaming smile
2. Her incredible thick hair
3. Her amazing organizational skill and thoroughness
4. Her head in my lap for petting with Anne of Green Gables on the tube

Emily dear, you're after my own heart with your carefully refined response! Wandering through your favorite fours with a sleepy smile, I can't think of a much better way to start the workweek! Well, maybe if I could give you a big hug... (*mushy sister moment*) Your Boston high jinks caught me off guard - I think I'll be Chuck-ling all day over that story, if you know what I mean! *smooch*

Did I ever answer these myself? I think I did, but my brain hurts so much these days (clever British umor reference) that I wouldn't remember even if I did. Don't get me all excited about your answering the Professor's latest quiz! 'Cause I'm just about ready to post another one. Unless, of course, you'd like to do both! Any chance to see y'all next weekend? Oh, and congratulaions to the Oregon State Beavers, champeens anew in the College World Series!

Are you kidding? My Italian getaway remains a favorite memory. We also made it to Roma while I was there, too! My tour guide, the food (especially that "angry pasta"), and that dark, mysterious stranger who shared our train car were among the week's highlights. I intend to return to Italy and check out some other locales. So many places, so little time... I'll bring my Ireland photo album to Oregon someday soon!

L. Claude, yes, please, pet my head. No, wait! It's too damn hot! Don't touch me! [The wicked witch of the Northwest moans] I'm melllllting...

Tina, my current yoguru, teaches Ananda yoga affirmations with the poses. In balasana, I'm supposed to "relax from outer involvement into my inner haven of peace." It's more like I curl up inside my tortoise shell and hide from the scary world. Anyway, it's a great stretch and it never fails to calm me out of a panic.

I would be humbled and honored if you answered any part of the survey that catches your fancy. I would send you *hugs* but it's too damn hot.

kelliest, just the surprise I was hoping for!

I had the privilege of captioning at least one episode of each of your TV picks - except Northern Exposure, which would certainly make my list if this were the meme of sixes.

And from Bologna, we went to Venice! As I was reading the Venice entry in Salon's summer reading guide just now, I shivered (and it's, like, 95 degrees here!) to recall the ineffable sensation of standing in a misty piazza in the ancient Jewish ghetto. I hope you have crazy good memories of our travels together in Italy.

Ireland is runner-up to Sicily in my tandem travels wish list. Show me your photos sometime, and share your stories? Aw, hell, just take me to the cliffs of Moher?

And how about Oregon, eh? I'll take you to an awesome bookstore for getting lost!
