Thanks to Natasha’s visit, Gordon and I had an excuse to spend a weekday afternoon at Leo Carrillo State Beach – that was Monday. How peaceful and refreshing to stroll barefoot as the tide crept in! Then with a sudden burst of energy I jogged a short distance with my dog – my parents’ Chariots of Fire music streaming an imaginary soundtrack! But the experience was really complete when I spotted a family of 3 whales slowly making their way along that bit of shore, surfacing regularly and gracefully spitting toward the sky. Ko Paikea, ko Paikea! stillineho
wow, really cool parallelism with me….i went running today, including a short distraction to wade in the river, had a lecture on whales in vert zoo, and signed up to play with dogs this weekend (assisting in a training exercise for search and rescue dogs). so what if yours are all more fabulous, the basics of water, running, whales, and dogs are there!
i am supremely jealous of the fact that yours involves salt water and real whales though, and wish i could pop out for a weekend visit. sigh.
Hey green-eyed lady, ocean lady – thanks for the tip. I just listened to a clip of the Sugarloaf song and it’s all you! You’re always welcome to visit, dear sister. Perhaps I should send you The Whale Rider novel for your summer reading?
